A good choice as a starter laminator for a sign shop who is not doing fleet graphics or images wider than 55″. Remember that if you buy a 55″ laminator, you’ll never be able to run 60″ material! If you aren’t going to go wider than 55″, then this solid model saves you a few bucks and will last a very long time. The features on this laminator include:
- Top heat-assist: The top roller will heat to around 120 degrees which will help the adhesive on the laminating film ‘wet-out’ better and create a better bond. Think of stretching before you go jogging – a little bit of heat will help the laminate perform better.
- Wide nip opening: This means the rollers open wide allowing you to put your hands in between the rollers when webbing the laminator. This may seem like a small feature, but when compared with many of the cheap Asian laminators, it makes webbing the machine easier and faster.
- Speed: This machine can keep up with your production.
- Durability: It’s a Seal. If you take care of this machine, you can expect a decade or more in terms of performance. Laminators are a very long-term investment (assuming you buy the right one). Unlike printers, which get better year-after-year, there’s only so much we can do to a laminator. Spend the extra cash and get a machine that will last 10 years instead of buying three laminators over a span of 10 years.
